About

Cascadia's mission is to lead North America's transition to energy efficient building design.
We innovate, commercialize and produce the most effective products to reduce energy consumption in buildings more than ever before.

Cascadia is located in beautiful Langley, British Columbia, Canada – about 45 minutes from Vancouver. Ever since 2008, when the dream of the most durable, reliable, and thermally efficient window possible, led our founders – a group of building science specialists and window specialists – to form Cascadia Windows, we have delivered more and more fiberglass solutions into the Pacific Northwest every year. In addition, Cascadia invents and commercializes truly useful, technically sound innovations for the construction industry, taking advantage of the fantastic characteristics of high-quality, pultruded fiberglass.

Here's a little of our story: Cascadia Windows manufactures fiberglass windows, doors, and fiberglass cladding support systems, with uncompromising quality and physical performance. What does that mean? It means that when you explore one of our products for any specific reason – be it a sliding door with unsurpassed water penetration resistance, a commercial window with exceptional thermal performance, or a cladding support assembly that provides ASHRAE-compliance in the most cost effective manner available, you can count on every other aspect of the product being as equally top-performing as the characteristic that caught your attention first - no compromises.

Our innovations are pushing the envelope: literally. The latest - our Universal Series - will be the first commercially available all-fiberglass Passive House Certified window and door system. Our technical guys told our marketing department to get used to updating this page, since our “latest innovation” won’t ever be the same for long – but we can live with that!

AWARD-WINNING, WIDELY-RECOGNIZED PRODUCTS

Cascadia’s real driving force behind their success is undoubtedly “green” innovation. No other Canadian green company has earned the same caliber of technical accolades and recognition for innovation in such a short period of time. Within eight years, Cascadia has been acclaimed with multiple national and international innovation awards for its cutting edge technologies. Cascadia has been instrumental in providing state-of-the-art products to some of the most energy efficient and award winning building projects in the world.

Cascadia has developed revolutionary fiberglass window products and exterior insulation products that vastly increase a building’s energy efficiency. Most recently, Cascadia developed the first commercial-grade, all-fiberglass, Passive House performance level window in the world.

Fiberglass Cladding Support Systems
Cascadia invented and developed the “Cascadia Clip”, which is the original thermally efficient cladding support system for exterior insulated wall assemblies. The Cascadia Clip is made of lowconductivity material (fiberglass), which virtually eliminates the thermal bridging and related degradation of effective thermal insulation levels that industry’s current steel cladding supports cause.

The latest building codes demand higher thermal performance from buildings than ever before. The ASHRAE 90.1 standard is referenced by building codes as the required performance standard for large building envelopes to meet which has stringent insulation requirements. These requirements are no longer achievable using traditional (or “industry standard”) wall assemblies. The Cascadia Clip System can assist in achieving these new code requirements.

The use of the spacers is cost neutral to conventional continuous steel girt systems and provides an exterior wall that insulates at least twice as well as the industry standard approach which yields energy savings for building owners for the life of the building.

Living Building Challenge

All of our fiberglass windows, as well as our Cascadia Clips, are part of the Living Building Challenge Declare Program. The Declare Program ensures material transparency and a lack of harmful chemicals. All of our products are Declared Red-List Free, in addition to providing superior energy performance of the building envelope.

LEED v4

The newest version of LEED includes the Declare program in its material transparency credits, so Cascadia products contribute directly to those credits. They also contribute massively to energy-related credits, by allowing much less heat loss than traditional products through the building envelope.

Mindful Materials

Mindful Materials is a North America-wide platform to improve material transparency in building products, to give designers and architects a list of the best products to use for highly efficient and sustainable buildings.

Passive House

The new Universal Series will be a Passive House International - Certified window. The certification will be complete (and available on this website) in early 2018. Passive House Institue US (PHIUS) certification is complete.

For energy modelers using the PHP software, we are please to provide ISO Standard thermal modelling data for your use with our Classic Series Windows and Doors. For this information, please see our Energy Ratings page.
