Beatties - It all began in 1860 When Grandpa Beattie started working at Izzard & Bixby bookstore in downtown St. Catharines, he wasn’t tall enough to ride the delivery bicycle.

By the early 1900s he had bought the store, renamed it Bixby-Beattie Co., and was helping customers—everyone from students to school boards—get the job done.

The company has grown and changed over almost 160 years, but Grandpa (and Grandma) Beattie’s legacy still lives on: work hard, give back and put people first.

We do it all: plan, advise, manage, order, advocate, install and, if necessary, adjust. Our 9 steps to project success:

1. CONSULTATION

Our furniture specialist and designer help you determine the who, what, where, when, why, and how of your project. What is the project vision? What is the budget? Who needs to be involved? What are the project milestones? What office furniture supplier is the best fit?

2. SPACE PLANNING

Based on the consultation, we put together a computer-assisted drawing of your new space so you can see the layout of workstations, lounge areas, meeting rooms and more.

3. PRODUCT SELECTION

We help you choose products, fabrics, finishes and other items to complete the project, such as lamps, white boards and office chairs. Showroom tours make it easy to decide. We make the process fun, not overwhelming. 

4. EXPERIENCE

You get to see a 3D colour rendering of important aspects of your project so you can experience the design, offer feedback, and we can make refinements.

5. ORDER

You sign off on the design and quote and we submit the order. We stay in frequent contact with the furniture supplier and any contractors involved in your project, such as painters or flooring installers.

6. DISMANTLE

We take apart your existing office furniture and donate or discard it for you.

7. INSTALL

We deliver your furniture and install it for you, minimizing interruption to your people and processes. Your furniture specialist is in constant contact with you through installation and move-in, and will usually oversee the process on-site for at least part of the time.

8. FOLLOW UP

We address any small issues and accommodate any on-the-spot requests during or as soon after installation as possible. If specialty equipment, such as ergonomic accessories, have been installed, we’ll make sure your team members know how to use them properly.

9. AFTER-SALE SUPPORT

We’re there for you long after move-in day, helping with product warranties, service, and any add-ons or modifications.

We’re ISO 14001 certified! That means we’re internationally recognized for our commitment to the environment and a cleaner, safer and healthier world for generations to come. When you choose to order from Beatties Office Products, you’re choosing to minimize your impact on the environment. In the past four years we have reduced our electricity consumption by 37% through Beatties Environmental Management System and projects such as retrofitting all the lighting in our retail store, administration and warehouse.

Over the past 5 years we have reduced the quantity of printed marketing and advertising materials by 15% per year. We will continue this reduction and invest in eco-friendly digital publications such as our on-line flyer and email marketing. We are in our 8th year of promoting landfill diversion of your used ink and toner cartridges. On average Beatties recycles over 16,000 cartridges annually. Our 2019 goal is 18,000. You might have noticed we reuse cardboard boxes from our warehouse receiving to package and send your orders. Last year this saved 25,150 boxes from being made or recycled.

Choose one of 1000+ different environmentally preferred products that we stock. Solar power generation Beatties St. Catharines store now has a rooftop solar PV system made up of 1352 solar panels. On any given week, these panels can have a carbon offset of 10,000 lbs, save 4.84 trees, generate 500 barrels of oil and feed 6440kwh to the grid.
